Woman Asks Twitter To Send ‘Worst Design’ Pictures, And The Responses Are Truly Beyond

A good house, in my opinion, is one that doesn’t give me any problems. That’s about the extent of my architectural and interior design know-how. Is it warm in winter and cool in summer? Does my head hit the lintel when I walk in the door? Does the toilet flush? These are the types of questions I have when looking for a new place to call home for 6 months to a year. As a millennial, I will be renting forever.

For more sophisticated dwellers, there is such a thing as elegant design and historical context. Open floor plan versus…rooms? Like I said, I’m not that into architecture. But this tweet thread started by YouTuber Sarah Schauer is something anyone can relate to. Even if you don’t have the education to recognize “good design,” most people can spot truly heinous design in a house, or at least an objective design fail.

Schauer kicked off the conversation by sharing a picture of a door opening up right into the middle of a staircase, which presents a danger to both the people exiting the door and the people ascending the stairs.

She captioned it, “Reply with the worst design/architecture picture you have.”

It seems like a lot of people were holding onto pictures of horrible houses just in case someone ever asked them for this exact thing. Scrolling through the replies, you’ll quickly realize that you know what bad houses look like. And they usually have carpeting around a bathtub.
