Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska contains over 6,000 square miles of wilderness and some very fat bears. In fact the park boasts so many chonky fluff boys and girls that they recently held a “Fattest Bear” competition to determine the fattest fluffball of them all.
As the park explained on Facebook, chowing doing and packing on the pounds is the bears’ job for much of the year so that they’ll have enough insulation to get through the winter.
“Getting as fat as possible from May – October means that they can hibernate for the winter when there is no food available.”
In other words the perfect job. Now improve your life by several hundred pounds by looking at these fat, happy bears.
