Ryan Reynolds Tweeted The Best Birthday Wish For Betty White

Actors Ryan Reynolds and Betty White have a special bond. White is a total national treasure—a hilarious actor and comedian with an impressive career who’s done a lot of work in animal advocacy.  (Of course, Reynolds isn’t too shabby either.) And the Golden Girls star is a huge fan of Reynolds’ Deadpool movies, even doing a promo when the first one was released.

On Thursday, Betty White began trending on Twitter because it was her birthday. After everyone breathed a huge sigh of relief that she wasn’t trending because she died, the birthday wishes began pouring in, with one very special one from the hunky Reynolds.

Reynolds tweeted a picture of himself on a talk show holding hands with white, and wrote, “I don’t usually talk about ex-girlfriends. But Betty’s special. Happy Birthday to the one and only, @BettyMWhite.”

And people on Twitter replied to Reynolds’ tweet, adding birthday wishes (and of course jokes) of their own.

Looking at Twitter, some of White's most recent tweets (from May 2018—she doesn't tweet a whole lot) have been retweets of Reynolds and the official Deadpool account. She really loves those movies and is clearly very fond of Reynolds (who wouldn't be?).

Like this one, where parts of Deadpool have been edited into what looks like the intro to an 80s sitcom, set to—what else?—the Golden Girls theme song, "Thank You For Being A Friend."

What a funny and sweet friendship White and Reynolds share. And a very happy (belated) birthday to one of the world's queens, Betty White.
