Emilia Clarke, who is known to readers most notably as Game of Thrones’ Daenerys Targaryen, spoke to ELLE UK about “the worst skincare advice” she ever received. A facialist instructed the actress to get fillers.
“I once had a facialist who told me I needed fillers and I showed her the door. I was literally just like, ‘get out,'” Clarke said.
“Her exact words were, ‘Then, you can have your face back.’ At that point I was 28.”
As an actor, especially one in Los Angeles, Clarke said she certainly understands the pressure to have enhancements done.
“You hear about all your contemporaries getting it done and you’re like, ‘Does that mean I have to? Should I be doing that?’ And then you work on a movie and the director of photography lights you beautifully and you get over it.”
Now that Clarke is 34, she feels she is smarter than she used to be, especially about aging and having work done.
“I’ve had more experiences, I’ve done all this stuff and I’m proud of that. You can only do that because you are the age you are. Time is the only thing [that] allows you to do those things.”
She continued, saying that her “face is gonna reflect the time I’ve spent on this earth…”
