Emily Blunt Shares Her “Sneak-Attack” Method To Moving In With Husband John Krasinski

Emily Blunt is finally dishing on moving in with John Krasinski and it’s about as adorable as one would expect from this couple.

The two actors have been married for about a decade now, but they first met in 2008 while Krasinski was having dinner with Justin Theroux. They’ve previously gone on record disagreeing about exactly which one of them asked the other out, with each claiming responsibility for initiating the romance, but either way, the rest was history. By 2009, they were engaged, and in the summer of 2010, they were married.

However, the whole thing could just as easily have never happened.

Blunt admits she had no intention of living in LA when they first began dating. “I’d just bought a place in London and was going to live there with my sister,” she told Harper’s Bazaar as part of its recent cover story.

But even the best laid plans can fall through, especially when it comes to matters of the heart.

When you date someone, it’s kind of inevitable that some of your stuff winds up at their house. And that’s undoubtedly compounded when your own home is supposedly halfway across the world.

“I didn’t ever see it as a move to the U.S., but gradually more and more of my stuff just accumulated at his house, and then suddenly I was living in L.A.,” said the Edge of Tomorrow star.

Does Blunt recommend this method for anyone else looking to shake up their living situation?

Definitely. “I think it’s the best way to do it—just to sneak-attack them, rather than turn up with trunks,” she joked.

Though it’s incredibly doubtful Krasinski had any complaints about how the whole thing went down.

Back in 2011, he told Ellen DeGeneres that he was completely smitten by Blunt from the very first moment.

“It was one of those things where I wasn’t really looking for a relationship and I was thinking I’m going to take my time in LA,” he said. “Then I met her and I was so nervous. I was like, ‘Oh god, I think I’m going to fall in love with her.’ As I shook her hand I went, ‘I like you.’”

Although they lived in LA for seven years, they’ve finally found the home that’s right for them over in New York City.

“I never really felt at home until we moved to the East Coast,” Blunt said. “We’ve found our place in the world.”
