Two bright spots in 2020 have been two sequential albums from Taylor Swift, who claimed she “just couldn’t stop writing songs” while the rest of us were crying in the shower. Both Folklore and Evermore were a big gift to her fans, who leaped on the albums ferociously and began analyzing them to the very last detail.
One of the songs that was quickly noted is “No Body, No Crime,” featuring HAIM, which is a story song about a MURDER. The lyrics include the phrase “I think he did it but I just can’t prove it.”
The Twitter meme-makers quickly noted that this is a sentence that can be applied to many, many situations. They started pairing it with photos that refer to other mysteries. Often murders that are unsolved or suspicious, but it’s also used to joke about pranks, secret children, thievery, whatever.
