Taylor Swift Had A Personal MySpace Page And You Can Still See The Pics

Taylor Swift has been making music for a very long time, but in 2006, she was more of an up-and-comer than a certified star.

Now, Swift is known for carefully curating her social media presence and album themes, dropping breadcrumbs for her biggest fans to follow and piece together into a loaf. A loaf of art.

2020 was especially huge for Swift, as she released not one, but TWO pandemic albums.

Well, not even Taylor Swift is too cool for her past. Periodically, old photos and screenshots of her comments from her old 2006 MySpace account will surface and they’re absolutely iconic.

Twitter user and Swiftie @folkmoreloverep has compiled them all into a perfect thread for us all to enjoy:

Please know I am not mocking Taylor Swift. I find these posts incredibly humanizing. In particular, the messages she posted to her friends’ pages about fugly photos, inside jokes about deep-throating lollipops, and hinting at who she has a crush on, makes her seem far more approachable.

Taylor Swift: she’s just like us! A total dork who cringe posts.

“We had a blast drinkin with yall,” Taylor wrote on July 18, 2006. “Got drunk as hell n crunk.”

These are the lyrics from Taylor I want to see! Enough about love, tell us about getting crunk on the beach.

But this thread is the gift that keeps on giving. We don’t just get a glimpse into 16-year-old Swift’s social life, we also get a glimpse of all the selfies she took of herself with a potato and then posted with so many filters she turned herself into a comic book character:

She even had pictures up there hinting at an alternate universe Emo Taylor. Just imagine how different the world would be if Swift had gone down a slightly different road:

But this is who she is at heart:

Love it. I’ll never judge Taylor Swift’s MySpace posts:

Because then I’d have to judge my own…
