Desperate for something to do inside, people in quarantine have turned to baking. With only a few items in the house to engage with, they were bound to start messing with the stove eventually.
Some people have basic baking competency or are even really skilled, making all sorts of artisanal loaves and sourdough starters and braided challah. Many, many more seem to have no freaking idea what they’re doing. The brave ones are posting their monstrosities to Twitter for us all to gasp at, which I really appreciate. It’s the perfect hobby: they get to kill a few hours making something and then delight the world with how awful it turned out.
Below are some of the best epic baking fails of quarantine on Twitter right now. I anticipate many more charred cookies and soupy biscuits before this is over—and I’ll never take a delicious slice of banana bread for granted ever again.
