We’ve all been there: preparing a beautiful meal for the holidays when a kitchen disaster occurs. A dog runs in and grabs the turkey. Or an essential ingredient is left out, rendering a dish bland. Or something catches fire and burns, leaving a smoky cloud and a ruined meal. It happens. Wipe your tears and start from scratch — or race to the store and scavenge for a pre-cooked item.
While most of us can deal with a cooking catastrophe, one woman managed to mangle a Marie Callender’s frozen pumpkin pie—and then reached out on social media to blame the company. Sharon Wess posted a picture of a seriously charred pie to Marie Callender’s Facebook page, saying “Thanks Marie Calender for ruining Thanksgiving dessert.” Well, Sharon, was Marie Callender in your kitchen heating up the pie?
Marie Callender’s wrote a nice message to Sharon offering to help her out:
“Hi Sharon. Thanks for your post. We’re really sorry to hear our Pumpkin Pie let you down this year. We’d like to get in touch with you so we can hear more and help.”
However, Sharon’s message of blame was fairly roasted by folks who couldn’t believe what they were seeing — both the burnt pie and the post.
With the holiday season fully in swing, remember: watch your pies or you might end up like Sharon.
