Gender reveal parties are beyond stupid. When they’re not burning down a national forest, they’re self-centered and idiotic ways to announce something nobody gives a sh*t about.
So imagine my fury when I read about a Brazilian couple who painted the waters of a natural waterfall electric blue to announce that their child has a penis. WHO CARES.
The parents posted videos and pictures of the event on Sunday but deleted everything once people started to say: wow, what assholes.
The waterfall is nearly 60 feet tall and just under 4 miles away from the center of Brazil’s Tangará da Serra municipality. The locals said the site is a famous tourist spot and, more importantly, a primary water source for a settlement close by.

And here they are again providing evidence for, hopefully, local police prosecution.
They immediately received vicious backlash (rightfully!) and were shamed into removing the video.
But people had already taken the clips and uploaded them around the web.
The river is called the Queima Pé river. It is, as stated, the primary water source for the nearby municipality, which also suffered a long drought. You can imagine how dangerous this stunt must have been for the animals and people who depend on this water.
People were understandably angry. They wrote:
“Thank god they got the canister of blue smoke, don’t think the dyed river would have done the trick. I just wish they could have gotten the blue fireworks to set off in the forest so we could know for sure,” said HandsyBread.
