Being a woman has never been easy, and sometimes you just want a little escape from everyday sexism.
Reading can be a nice escape from it, or so you’d think. But often, when a male writer tries writing a female character, it’s hard to look past the, umm, not-so-great ways he writes about her.
It happens so often that there’s an entire group dedicated to it online where people roast men who try to write women, but completely miss the mark.
The Men Writing Women subreddit describes itself as a “sample of how men who create films, books, TV, and graphic novels characterize women” and does a fine job dragging them within an inch of their lives, as seen in these funny top posts from the group:
