Parenting small humans is always an adventure, and sometimes you just want the world to know how messy that adventure is.
Brittany Nichole Berry was spending time at the playground with her toddler Sadie when she noticed Sadie had a wet spot on her shorts. Thinking Sadie had an accident, Brittany got ready to change her diaper. But it wasn’t an ordinary wet diaper—or even an ordinary poopy diaper.
“I realize it’s a poop-trophe. 😳 I’m talking on of them poops you usually see in a newborn, where it’s all up then back and down their legs and you contemplate just throwing the whole baby away,” wrote Brittany on her Facebook page in the now-viral post.
But Brittany’s a pro! She’s got three kids, she’s done this before. Preparing to clean up her daughter, Brittany reaches for the wipes—but there are only four wipes left. Brittany brings Sadie—who is now naked because her clothes are all covered in poop—to the parking lot so she can get more wipes from the car.
Wipes are nowhere to be found, and during the search, Sadie runs back to the playground where she promptly goes down the slide.
“Then I hear it…. that painful SQQQUUUEEEAAAKKKKK of skin getting stuck to a plastic slide on the way down. I look up and yes, of course, it’s Sadie. 🤦🏻♀️ She’s going down the slide, butt naked, COVERED in poop, leaving a long skid mark of poop allllllll the way down on her way.”
Brittany collected Sadie and her other daughter, got them into the car (Sadie wrapped in a blanket), and drove home to get cleaning supplies so she can tend to the poop on the slide. But cleaning the poop is not as easy as anticipated. (Is it ever?)
“Eventually, I get the brilliant idea to go down the slide and wipe as I go. Instead of risking a head injury I decide to go down feet first, on my stomach, holding on to the side to slow myself down with one hand and wiping with the other,” wrote Brittany.
“This was not easy. I did not look elegant or attractive, I’m sure. I’m 254lbs of sweaty fat flopping around this children’s slide like a fish out of water.”
As Brittany cleans the slide, getting poop all over her clothes, a family shows up and starts to glare at her. So she doesn’t get poop in her car, Brittany removes her shirt and drives home in her bra. It’s honestly just another day in the life of a mom, and so many can relate to the story.
According to Brittany, there are two morals to the story. “Always bring extra wipes, extra clothes, extra blankets, extra everything! 😂 Don’t clean out your car, ever. 😂 And if you aren’t mentally, emotionally, and physically prepared to roll around in another person’s feces… use a condom.”
