If you watched the second episode of Season 8 of Game of Thrones, you know that Arya got her some man meat in the crypts of Winterfell. It was that one moment in the series that well longed for—but, when we finally got it, we weren’t 100% ready for it on screen.
When the cast originally got the scripts for the episode, Sophie Turner (AKA Sansa Stark) got to the scene before Maisie Williams (AKA Arya Stark). Turner told Williams to “skip over it immediately.” But, obviously, Williams turned to it ASAP—and laughed, thinking it was an absolute joke. Williams told EW:
“At first, I thought it was a prank. I was like, ‘Yo, good one.’ And [the showrunners were] like, ‘No, we haven’t done that this year.’ Oh f–k!”
As it turns out, showrunners wanted Arya to have this growth and exposition on screen with someone who has had a history with her. And, it was the way that Arya was dealing with her “last night on Earth.” Showrunner David Benioff claims that it was a true “human” moment for Arya—who has been known to look death in the face and say “not today.”
Seeing Arya ask Gendry to “take his own bloody pants off” shocked everyone—but most of all, it shocked her co-star and best friend, Sophie Turner, who recorded the most iconic video on Instagram last night while watching the throwdown occur.
Turner was chilling out in a comfortable robe, a glass of wine, and a lot of puns about Arya losing that v-card of hers.
In the video, Turner can be heard saying, “In honor of Easter, I guess Game of Thrones wanted the storyline to have a little Easter bunny hop hop hoppin’ into that pusssaaaaay.”
Lady Sansa—I cannot.
People online were absolutely living for it.
