TikToker @juliapic, aka Julia, recently uploaded a video and asked her followers to help her evaluate whether a man secretly took her photo at her gym.
The footage was originally taken in January, but Julia decided not to share it.
Yahoo News reported that she felt “it was a bit too sensitive”:
“Was honestly gonna post this on here when it happened but it was a bit too sensitive at the time lol. Genuinely curious what you guys think.”
The video has amassed nearly 15 million views.
In the video, Julia is doing an exercise facing a mirror. A man kneels behind her for a moment.
It’s hard to see precisely what the guy behind her is doing, but Julia says she asked him if he took a photo.
“He denied he took a picture which made me feel crazy for thinking it. So I’m curious. What do you think?”
Commenters agreed that it looked like the guy took a photo and urged Julia to check in with the gym’s management team.
@lorricade00 wrote, “I used to work at Planet Fitness and people get their memberships revoked or they get kicked out for the day!”
Other TikTokers shared moments in which they also felt harassed or uncomfortable at the gym.
On Thursday, Julia said she contacted the gym’s staff. She has since removed that video from her TikTok, but the Daily Dot reported on its content. They explained that Julia shared that the man was “angry and stormed out of the gym” once confronted. He also, according to Julia, came back to argue against the decision.
Julia didn’t initially upload the first video to TikTok, but she had shared it on Instagram and another TikTok user said that the man saw that Instagram post. She said that he made some rude comments, but she has not seen him again.
