There is a meme on Twitter right now that is best when it’s stupidest. The “imagine your card declines” tweet format asks the reader to literally imagine what would happen if their card was declined in various scenarios. In real life, not much would happen except awkwardness, a call to the bank, potentially some yelling, etc.
In Twitter life, people whose cards get declined can have everything and anything happen to them, up to and including resurrection, getting the gay put back in them at conversion camp, or having the “ear meat” shoved back into a piercing.
Yes, none of this stuff would ever be the result of a declined card, but imagining these repercussions is funny for just that reason. Real life is predictable and boring. The vengeful people on Twitter are not.
