The Drake and Kendrick Lamar Beef has taken the internet by storm. If you’re anything like me and know next to nothing about hip-hop news, this video does a great job of explaining how we got here.
Basically, Drake has been starting a bunch of shit with every rapper in the game since his career took off 15 years ago. Along the way, he’s caught a bunch of flack for pretending to be something he’s not — i.e. he acts like a gangster who “started from the bottom” but grew up in the suburbs and was a child star on a tween drama called Degrassi.
All this came to a head when Kendrick Lamar made a track dissing several rappers, including Drake. Everyone took it in stride — except Drake, who got super offended and decided to launch an ongoing rap war with Kendrick. Drake has proven way out of his depth in this war, and now everyone on the internet is taking jabs at him.
