A girl named Madelynn, Maddi for short, committed some unnamed offense in her life, because she’s a teen and teens are always testing the limits of what they can get away with.
Maddi can’t get away with much, because she has pretty attentive parents. They decided to punish her in a very unique way—they didn’t just take away her social media, they took it over.

They shared a photo of Maddi hiding her face on her bed, and wrote in the caption:
“This is Maddi. Maddi got herself grounded. She had a choice of no phone for a month or no phone for 2 weeks and we have FULL control of her social media. She chose 2 weeks. So be on the look out for some amazing instagram posts, snap chats and Tiktoks from her parents!!”

And they actually did it. Maddi started to accrue more and more followers who wanted to watch her parent’s antics.
It started with her dad trying to post in Maddi’s style, posing as a VSCO girl with some success. Here he wrote, “Like, can we save the mother freakin turtles already?! #parenttakeover #makebetterchoices #instagood #followme #savetheturtles.”

Sounds like a teen to me!
But he also shared a whole lot of selfies. I guess once dad discovered the addictive power of social media attention, it became less and less of a joke.
“….I wonder what Maddi is doing without her phone…..”

Eventually, Maddi got her phone back and posted a picture of herself as a sweet baby, with the caption, “I’m back sweeter than ever and ready to make good choices.”

Unfortunately, her social media clout might be gone forever. Her dad was a better poster, racking up hundreds of more likes than her posts.
