Photoshop has been around for a long time and most computer-savvy people know how to do basic editing so that they can participate in Photoshop battles on Reddit, at the very least. But some people are true artists with the ‘shop.
One of those artists is a man named James Fridman, who has been entertaining himself and everyone on the Internet by accepting submissions from people for Photoshop jobs. They tell him what they want changed and he interprets that however he wants—usually very, very literally.
It seems like a fair deal, though it’s almost never what they were actually asking for. People keep submitting, so they must still be happy with the results!
Fridman is also pretty sincere at surprising moments. While most of his posts seem like pranks, when people try to convince him to change stuff about them that shouldn’t be changed, he’ll tell them so.
Photoshop is a tool of manipulation, and Fridman uses his work and words to show both how easy it is to make something look like it’s not (when you have the skills) and why we shouldn’t always be striving to look “better” in media.
It’s rare to find someone who is such an amazing troll and socially conscious. Mischief and manners all in one package. Can you Photoshop me into your life, dude?
