There are a lot of things that have no right being illegal. Marijuana, for one. The feds would have a lot more time to catch murderers if they just said no to the drug war.
There are also a lot of things that have no right being legal.
That’s what this Redditor’s question is all about. Last week, u/Xanduh posted in the r/AskReddit Subreddit:
“What do you wish was illegal?”
And a lot of people want a lot of things to be illegal, with the thread receiving 24,000 comments.
Below are 20 that make us go “Hmm, OK, yeah.”
1. Bathroom stall cracks
The small crack in bathroom stalls.
2. “Anti-aging” stuff
Advertisement like “anti-aging” is absolutely preposterous
3. Credit score shenanigans
Your credit score goes down because you cancelled a credit card.
4. Pricey printer ink
printer ink being ridiculously expensive for no reason.
5. “Warranty” calls
“Hi, I’m X. We’re trying to reach you regarding your car’s extended warranty.”
6. Ad scams
Online adverts featuring large “click here to download” buttons next to the actual download link, which is generally much smaller.
7. Ticket fees
Convenience fees for online ticket purchases. Why am I getting charged for saving on paper, ink, and everyone’s time?
8. Sticky subscriptions
Companies making it really difficult to cancel things. Especially subscriptions. I think the process to subscribe to something to should be exactly the same as the process to cancel it. I’m looking at you spotify.
9. Drug prices
Hiking up prices of life-saving medications. (Insulin, epi-pens, etc.)
10. YouTube families
Using children to monetize your social media channels.
11. Loud ads
Commercials that are louder than the program you’re watching
12. Sirens out of nowhere
Radio commercials that contain a police or ambulance siren.

Random number phone call scams
14. Slow refunds
Refund taking more than 3 days to appear, if they can demand to get money from me on hours notice then i should be able to demand my cash back as fast as possible.

Not posting salaries in job descriptions.

Multi-level marketing schemes
17. Home owners’ associations
HOAs being able to legally steal property from owners.
18. Abusive pet owners
Pet ownership if the person has a history of animal abuse, I wish it were more strictly enforced. I’m still stunned it isn’t to be honest, I mean it’s surely got to be one of the most telling signs that a person is on a bad path if they’re abusing defenceless, completely trusting creatures. Makes me so mad.
