Woman Records Tinder Date Shaming Her For Not Sleeping With Him And It Goes Viral

In November, a 25-year-old girl named Madison met a Tinder date and ended up in a scary situation. She recorded a portion of the altercation she had with the guy and posted to TikTok

“He was supposed to take me to dinner, but changed the plan and decided to just go back to his house and watch a movie,” Madison told BuzzFeed in an interview.

Madison is in recovery and said the date started pressuring her to drink. She decided to secretly call an Uber and try to leave, but as the date realized she wouldn’t be sleeping with him, he accused her of not understanding how Tinder “works.”

She managed to capture some of it. The TikTok starts with him seeming to explain what dating is, mentioning getting to know someone better over time. Apparently, he doesn’t think you can get to know someone slowly over time if you matched on Tinder.

“This is how adults date,” he says. “They don’t use Tinder to date. They use Tinder to f–k.”

“Okay, then in your bio you need to say, ‘Hey I’m just trying to f–k,” she says.

“If you say that, you’re not gonna get any Tinder matchups!”

What an incredible observation. What could that possibly mean about how Tinder works? That people who don’t want to just have hookups are on it, perhaps?

In another video, Madison also says her own bio reads “no hook ups” and that they spoke on Tinder for three weeks before the meeting, during which she says he was “super respectful.”

Basically, he manipulates women into thinking they’re going on a regular date and then acts like they’re stupid for not knowing they actually signed a binding contract to have sex with him.

To this nonsense, Madison responds, “But then you’re upfront, and you don’t pull girls back to your apartment and then get sh—y when they won’t sleep with you!”

“Fair,” he says, before negating it by adding, “But I’m telling you, this is how it works.”

Madison calls him out as exhibiting toxic masculinity, and then he tries to tell her he is actually imparting great wisdom and knowledge to “protect” her in the future. In a follow-up video, she says she was sitting down as he stood there to try and maintain calm.

When he sat down, she got up to make her exit. As she walked towards the door to leave, he followed her and says “this is why” women get sexually assaulted.

“The worst part [about what he said] was that he didn’t feel like I had the right to say, ‘No,'” she told BuzzFeed. “That I was obligated to have sex with him because I went back to his apartment.”

“I’m in recovery, so I’ve gone through a lot of bad stuff that kind of taught me, along with therapy, to stay calm in situations like that. I knew I had a choice, but my worry was that other women in this situation might not feel like they have a choice.”

She also said in a video that she had been in much worse situations, which is the only reason she was able to maintain her presence of mind. She wants the TikTok to show girls “that it’s OK to say ‘No’ regardless of the time you put into a relationship, that was my main goal in sharing it.”

It’s always all right to say no, and you’re always a jerk for insisting it’s not.
