When you hear the phrase “Walmart greeter,” what do you think of? Probably a kindly older man or woman saying hello as you walk in, right?
Well, that wasn’t TikToker @rips_world’s experience.
As he was trying to leave the store with his goods, a greeter instantly turned into Sherlock Holmes — going through his bags and accusing @rips_world of taking things without paying for them (scroll to the end for the full video, it’s worth it).
This was @rips_world’s reaction to the inquisition.
Nevertheless, the greeter continued to go through his bags, apparently convinced that there was a trove of stolen merch inside.
After not finding anything, the greeter wasn’t done. He dragged @rips_world’s cart to customer service, where the “investigation” continued.
Finally, @rips_world lost his cool and let a few (justified) f-bombs fly while he demanded an apology.
The greeter finally did so, much like a petulant child says he’s sorry for stealing a cookie.
After being cleared, the vindicated @rips_world made the greeter put all of his stuff back in the shopping card. Because it was the least he could do.
The video went viral with outraged commenters weighing in.
Looks like Walmart lost a customer, thanks to one overzealous greeter who needs to stick to his job.
