A Disney Parks employee and TikToker named Jete has told his followers that he was fired after he uploaded a video in which he sampled water from everywhere in Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs.
In the video, Jete quested to find the very best water in Disney’s theme park. He tasted and reviewed water from restaurants, decorative fountains, pools, and more. Absolutely no stone left unturned.
Samples from places like outdoor fountains rather predictably ranked pretty low — Disney Spring’s main fountain feature elicited just a 1/10, the pool at the entrance to the Rainforest Cafe hit a 3/10, and the pool outside the World of Disney received “rona”/10.
The video received more than 15 million views and Disney evidently wasn’t happy with the performative stunt. They fired him.
Jete said his manager told him of the decision.
“We go to the office, this guy pulls me into a room, and he says ‘so Jason, I hear you have a big following on social media.’ I immediately knew something was wrong,” he recounted. “He said well, unfortunately, the Walt Disney Company has emailed me and said they do not appreciate what you’ve been posting, specifically your last two videos, and unfortunately, they said you are no longer allowed backstage, so I’m going to have to let you go.”
Jete has taken the firing in stride, posting jokes and cracks on Instagram.
“Getting fired from Disney might be the best thing that has ever happened to me,” Jete said in a follow-up TikTok. “In the past 48 hours, I’ve gained over 100,000 new family members, I’ve had multiple brands reach out to me offering me sponsorship deals,” he continued, “and I’ve had seven companies reach out to me offering me a position as their social media manager.”
He has since taste-tested water in other Disney resorts. Bets on how long it takes for this guy to just get banned?
