Being a person that doesn’t have to suffer through a period every month is a true blessing in itself, but just because you don’t go through it, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t understand how to sympathize with those that do.
It’s espeically important as a father of a girl to be aware of what exactly is going down while your child is going through some pretty scary changes. We always commend those dads out there that try their best to help out their daughters during their Shark Week, and every once in a while we find a hilarious story about a dad missing the mark just by a little bit.
A recent TikTok dad (k.othabarber) went viral after his daughter needed immediate back-up at school due to her period. Not only did he get her what she needed, he accidentally went to even better lengths than he meant to.
She said “get her some Always pads with some wings.”
The TikToker began by explaining that his daughter’s mother texted to ask him to bring some pads to their daughter’s school. He asked her what he should get and the events to follow was a hilarious miscommunication that went viral.
The dad says in the clip, “Aight, so look, check this out. So my baby mama just text me and told me like, ‘hey baby dad, your daughter just got her period in school.’ I’m like aight, cool, what I need to do?”
He continued, “She like, ‘take her some pads up there.’ I’m like aight, I’m finna take my dog to the doggy appointment and then I’m finna slide up there. She like, ‘aight cool, get her some maxi pads. Get her some Always pads with wings.'”
“So, I feel like I should tell y’all what I did.” The camera then cuts to him showing off the 100-pack of sanitary pads he purchased for his daughter.
“I got her some Always pads,” and then the camera cuts to a bag showing a food container, “And I got her some wings.”
TikTokers who saw the video not only thought it was funny, but praised the OP for his unintentional heart-warming act towards his daughter. Not to mention, he was right on the money! Actual wings is almost a better thing to have than the pads when on a period!
He ended the video by coming to a realization, “But I ain’t know this not what she means. She meant just the pads that had the wings And they got the wings, and she got some more wings. Yup, I done f–ked up. It’s all good.”
Viewers commended this Dad for unintentionally going above and beyond!
So Dad’s, take notes! If your daughter is ever needing help with her period, keep in mind that she’s probably craving something greasy or sweet too! Get her one of her favorite foods to go with the toiletries for some extra brownie points (brownies work too)!
