‘Ten Hours Gotta Pass Somehow’ — Man Plays Call Of Duty While Wife Gives Birth

Childbirth isn’t like the movies — it can be a long drawn-out process. Sometimes it’s several hours before the kid comes out.

So what to do with all that time, if you’re not the one popping out a kid?

Well, this man (@khashs_garage) found a novel way to pass the time during the delivery: video games! (Scroll to the end for the full video.)

His video went viral on several platforms, showing his lady resting in a hospital bed. A hospital employee is checking a computer. Not much going on.

Then the camera pans over to the father-to-be. He’s got the Playstation 5 controller in hand, getting in some Call of Duty time on the hospital TV.

Now we assume that the video might have been staged a little because obviously he’s got someone else recording. Hopefully he didn’t spend ALL of the delivery working on his k/d ratio.

Still, you’ve got to admire the gamer’s commitment. Commenters cheered him on.

Over on another TikTok account that also posted the video, other commenters couldn’t help but crack jokes.

If you’re wondering, the Mayo Clinic says that active labor often lasts 4 to 8 hours or more. Plenty of time for an extending gaming session!

The site Very Well Family suggests a few things to support your partner in childbirth: breathing exercises, offering encouragement, helping them change positions, and creating a supportive environment.

But hey, this dude has his own way of being a supportive partner. Seriously, imagine when the kid sees this video in a few years. “Daddy, did you at least win?”

Here’s the video.
