College Student Breaks Down The Sexualization Of Children’s Cartoon, Debate Ensues In Comments

Are kid’s cartoons actually R-rated? Is the sexualization of children’s cartoons a real thing?

That’s what TikToker Sarah LeMoine (@saaaarrrrraaaah2.0) argued in a video that has gone viral. (Skip to the end to watch the full video.)

In the video, which has racked up more than 7 million views, she specifically talks about the children’s classic Spongebob Squarepants.

And she feels like there’s a lot of questionable stuff going on.

For one, she said: “They live in Bikini Bottom. A group of men live in a girl’s bikini bottoms with Sandy Cheeks, Mr. Krabs — like the STD — Krusty Krab, Krabby Patty…”

Then she brought up the Chum Bucket and pointed out that the name on the restaurant appears with a capital “C,” lowercase “h,” capital “U,” and capital “M” — insinuating that it emphasizes the word “CUM.”

She also had a unique take on an episode where the characters do karate. In the episode, SpongeBob tries to force Sandy to do karate at night. Sarah claims that could represent sexualization of children’s cartoons.

Instead, Sandy tells SpongeBob he should do it alone, which could mean masturbation — we guess?

So was she onto something? She’s definitely not the first person to notice sexual innuendos in children’s cartoons.

Commenters were mixed. Some were with her.

Others… not so much.

Here’s the video. What do you think? Is sexualization of children’s cartoons a real thing? Is this weird to be talking about so close to Christmas?
