Look, who hasn’t lied on their resume? If you’re looking for work, there’s a good chance it’s because you’re desperate. You do what you gotta do to land the job.
Well, what do you do if you get that job? How much did you lie? I once worked a construction job for 3 months with zero experience. I’d just sit in the port-o-potty and google how to do my job every day. Did you lie that much?
These social media managers begging for help on Tiktok are the extreme case of lying on a resume. There are tons of these jobs and if you’re in your 20s everyone will believe you when you say you know how social media works.
The first case we’ll show you involves Joel Velazquez, a social media manager who lied his way into the position for Clancy’s Auto Body Shop in the Fort Lauderdale area.
Since Joel’s desperate plea, The auto body shops’s Tiktok has amassed over 224,000 followers and the original Tiktok has over 24 million views.
@clancysautobody Job market is tough rn 😒 #bodyshoplife #shoplife #autobody
It didn’t take very long for Tiktok users to jump on board. I mean, usually when you throw yourself at the mercy of the internet, the internet chooses to rip you to shreds. Maybe Tiktok comments are the exception to the rule?
The comments were, like I said, shockingly wholesome.
This is no isolated incident. What has worked for one, can work for many. Dobbins & Letourneau Eye Care’s social media manager, Claire, took a shot in the dark last Wednesday with a similar video.
Claire threw a hail Mary pass with only seconds left in the game. Luckily, she had a hell of an arm.
@eyecarelawrence Dont forget to schedule your annual eye exam! Accepting new patients 🙂 #lawrenceks #eyecare #pedropascaledit
This touchdown not only kept Claire employed until the next presentation, but earned her a “wow” from her boss.
@eyecarelawrence We did it!!!!!! Now its time for optical content… or is it?😉 #notfired #capcut #pedropascalfanaccount
