Toy Story 3 was good, clean fun when it hit theaters in 2010.
But was it all PG rated? TikToker Kitty Feeley (@kittyfeeley) started a giant debate after she posted a clip that seemed to show one character dropping an f-bomb (scroll to the end for the full video).
In a scene with Barbie and Ken (yes that Barbie and Ken), we see Ken tied up as Barbie rips up a pair of his swimming trunks.
What Ken says next is a matter of opinion. He either responds with “Oh, Barbie! Those were vintage!” or “Oh f**k! Those were vintage!”
The video went viral, with more than 35 million views. And it’s honestly not easy to tell what he’s saying (although surely they wouldn’t have dropped the mother of all swear words in Toy Story 3).
Needless to say, opinions were divided. Some thought they heard one thing, but for others, it was more difficult.
Some commenters felt like they could hear both at the same time.
And for others, it brought to mind the legendary “Yanny or Laurel” clip from a few years ago.
If you’re wondering, these clips are known as “auditory illusions,” which are false perceptions of a real sound or outside stimulus. They’re the sound equivalent of optical illusions.
Here’s the video. What do you think Ken says?
