Woman Says She Was Fired After A Coworker Snitched On Her TikTok Joke About Work

There’s still some risk to having a social media presence depending on the type of work you do — and one TikToker says she recently got fired after her 60-year-old co-worker showed a photo of her account to management.

Nicole Johnson, 29, who goes by the handle @nicoleybridget3, posted a series of videos showing the chain of events that led to her being fired.

“POV your 60+-year-old coworker turned in a photo of your TikTok to admin to get you fired,” the video’s on-screen text says.

Johnson followed up that video by revealing the photo of the TikTok that led to the mess. In the TikTok, which has since been deleted, Johnson jokes that she can’t come into work early because of her children — and yet, she gets Starbucks every day. It’s cute! We get it. Coffee is life.

Johnson explains that she did not say she was coming to work late. Instead, she said she wasn’t able to come in early, which she and her coworkers sometimes are asked to do.

“I put this TikTok out there, didn’t even think anybody was going to do anything with it,” Johnson says in the video. “I didn’t think I’d get fired for it because I didn’t think it was unprofessional. It doesn’t swear, it’s not negative, it’s not harassing.”

Some viewers thought that Johnson’s employer has been out to get her for some time. In another video, Johnson says she was put on administrative leave for three weeks for making “unprofessional TikToks” and “harassment of a co-worker.” Despite being part of a union, Johnson was fired of May this year.

We reached out to Johnson via TikTok comment for any further updates and have not heard back.
