Dawn Farmer of York, England has never tasted ranch dressing.
Until a very kind soul from the States sent Farmer a bottle of ranch to try. And in a video with over 3.5 million views, the British woman gave it a go…
Buzzfeed reached out to Farmer. She explained that ranch is not a common dressing in the UK.
“Ranch is practically nonexistent here, like I’ve said previously — I had never even heard of it!”
When asked how she felt about the dressing?
“My taste buds just went through the roof with excitement. The taste almost reminded me of Caesar salad dressing, but a lot thicker and more seasoned with different flavors,” she said.
She also told Buzzfeed she’s since tried ranch on both salads and pizza. Rave reviews for both.
Generally, Farmer said, the UK and the US have the same dressings. “Although, people should definitely give brown sauce a try! Or even the spread marmite, you’ll either love or hate that one!”
Farmer does other taste-tests of food from across the pond. In this one, she tries candy:
“I’ve always been very curious about the differences between the UK and the US — and this includes food! So, I have been extremely excited and interested to try as many different things as I can. Having a big American following on TikTok also just makes me even more curious to try all of the different things over there!”
