A compelling question hit the AskReddit page one day ago and has already received over 43k comments. OP asked: “Non-Americans, what do you think every American person has in their house?” After reading through a few thousand of these responses, it’s safe to say that if you as an American don’t have a garbage disposal, you’re unpatriotic. I found that a lot of the responses were items directly out of American-made film and TV, but nevertheless, painfully accurate. You don’t realize how many items you and your neighbor have in common until you’re seeing them listed by people of other countries around the world.
I picked out what I believed to be the 25 most accurate household items that Americans have. Get your pen and paper ready, and see how many boxes you can check off that are within walking distance of where you’re sitting right now!
Let’s get into it with #1: Ranch Dressing.
#2: Plastic bags filled with other plastic bags.
#3: Lots of drugs.
#4: A designated “junk drawer.”
#5: Mac & Cheese.
#6: Every American’s go-to pants:
#7: A microwave.
#8: A very convenient ice dispenser.
#9: A whole gallon of (whole) milk.
#10: The most important “Garage Fridge.”
#11: Man’s best friend.
#12: Something we take for granted too often:
Knocking out #13, #14, and #15 with this holy trinity:

#17: Gun(s).
#18: The full coffee bar.
#19: The “American Dad.”

#21: Another American staple:
#22: Large, open-top washing machines.
#23: A large dryer to go with it!
#24: Drywall?
#25: Lastly, and the most painfully accurate:
