say what you want about her, but this is such a positive message that she’s putting out for women in general, it’s a lot better a message than some of your favs are putting out with their music

Rexha has used her platform to advocate for body positivity and self-love in the past. In a video that went viral back in January, she spoke out against designers who she claims refused to dress her for the Grammys because she was “too big” at a size 8.
Im sorry, I had to get this off my chest. If you don’t like my fashion style or my music that’s one thing. But don’t say you can’t dress someone that isn’t a runway size. We are beautiful any size! Small or large! Anddddd My size 8 ass is still going to the Grammys. #LOVEYOURBODY pic.twitter.com/0nqdjXf0Dw

“You’re saying all the women in the world that are a size eight and up are not beautiful and that they cannot wear your dresses,” she said. “So, to all the people who said I’m thick and I can’t wear your dress, fuck you. I don’t want to wear your fucking dresses.”
Rexha got tons of birthday love and support from fans and fellow musicians.
“I think it’s safe to say you just broke the internet. I turn 30 in January. Thanks for making 30 look flawless,” said one user.
Emphasizing her stance against ageism in the industry, Rexha’s new single “Not 20 Anymore” includes lyrics like “Don’t try to make me feel insecure/’Cause I’m aging like wine/I get better with time.”
It’s crazy how Hollywood has made us all believe that 30 is old… 30 is NOT old, 40 is NOT old… look at Madonna, that queen is 60 & LIVING. Look at Cher, look at Paula Abdul, those queens doing it right

Before her birthday, she shared an image on Instagram and explained she was fed up with double standards.
“I recently had a MALE music executive tell me that I was getting too old and that my brand was ‘confusing.’ Because…I’m a songwriter and I post sexy pics on my Instagram and that’s not what female songwriters are suppose to do, especially for my age. I’m 29,” she wrote.

“I’m tired of women getting labeled as ‘hags’ when they get old and guys get labeled as sexy with age.”
Preach!
