Long ago, in a celebrity galaxy far, far away, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were married. They were Hollywood royalty, a perfect union and then…Angelina Jolie entered the scene. It’s understood that the reason Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston broke up is likely (definitely) because Pitt cheated on his former wife. He went on to have a long marriage and many kids with Jolie, but for many years afterward Aniston was characterized in the media as “poor Jennifer,” a woman who loved and lost. Very sexist and unfair to Aniston who has been married again and divorced again, and very very wealthy since—in fact, she’s lived a whole life without her cheating ex-husband and she’s THRIVED.

But that doesn’t mean Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston don’t keep in touch. Many fans have suspected that they have considered getting back together, especially now that Pitt’s marriage with Jolie has dissolved in an ugly divorce of their own. Pictures from backstage at the 26th annual SAG Awards have fanned the flames of these rumors even more. Both actors were winners that night, according to Harper’s Bazaar: Pitt for Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood and Aniston for her new role in The Morning Show. To me, personally, that’s all it looks like. People flirt, especially exes, especially when there’s really nothing at stake. They’re both dressed up, at a fancy party, feeling themselves. Single and ready to mingle. Often a little flirt is enough! So to assume more is a big jump, in my opinion.
