Everyone loves to analyze a good Bridezilla story, and there’s plenty to go around. Something about a wedding can drive a bride-to-be absolutely mental, leaving a trail of explosions and irreparable arguments in her wake. Luckily, we have magical websites such as Reddit to come together through community and recover from recent Bridezilla sightings.
One of these traumatized victims posted on Facebook to share her story and hopefully get some advice on how to handle her next move.
OP began by explaining they weren’t sure about going public with the story, but the shock factor and what had happened was too unexplainable to not ask for extra opinions. Below is the original post from Facebook:
A few commenters on the post suggested OP reach out to the bride for clarity, and that’s exactly what they did. The way the bride reacted to the call however, was completely unexpected…
OP contacted the bride to inquire why they were only just now being informed that it would cost $75 a person to attend the wedding, given that most weddings are all-inclusive:
Okay, at the suggestion of a few very dear people, I had a conversation during my lunch break that went something like this: “Hi love, we received your voice mail and had a bit of a concern about the fee for dinner.
Here’s where Bridezilla broke out of her cage:
May we ask why there is?’ Her response (I KID YOU NOT) “Who are you to ask about what I’m doing for my wedding?! I don’t understand why all of these folks are declining after my calls to them like we’re supposed to pay for everybody to damn eat. It’s “my” wedding! You either pay or don’t come!”
Wow, quite the response, huh? OP stared at her phone in disbelief, then unleashed a solid roast on the bride via phone call.
……………after about 7 seconds of silence on my end and a big……[eyes emojis] to my phone, I politely said: “Darling, it’s in poor taste to have sent invites, received RSVP’s, and follow up voice notes to pay for the meal….
She continued with her passive roast:
Had the invite been printed with caveats beforehand, your invited guests could decide from there on whether or not they are to attend. I don’t appreciate the tone you’ve taken with me when my question has come from a genuine place.”
With her selective hearing, Bridezilla reiterated her point:
Her response: “Well you’ve heard what I’ve said, either pay or don’t come.” My response “Our acceptance is rescinded and you have a good life.” Terminates call……. Inhale…….Exhale……. OK, whaaaauuuutttt in the hell on earth did I experience???? I’ve not been right for the remainder of this day and I still have 4 hours left of it……
These screenshots were shared on Reddit, where viewers had the opportunity to tear this Bridezilla to shreds, King Kong style.
Paying $75 for a dinner at a wedding isn’t the worst fee in the world, but the sneakiness of the charge was what made this request so absurd. I don’t foresee many people showing up to this wedding, and if someone does- well, that’s unconditional love right there.
