Selling Girl Scout cookies doesn’t seem that difficult, because they honestly taste great and I can’t imagine most people not wanting them. But it is highly competitive, and with everyone’s kids selling the same thing, people will do things like setting up tables outside weed dispensaries or rapping to Cardi B and Childish Gambino in order to go viral.

Charlotte Holmberg, a fifth-grader from Highlands Ranch, CO, put pictures of Jason Momoa a.k.a. Aquaman on boxes of Samoas and called them Momoas. And what do you know, all of a sudden they were selling like beefcakes (hotcakes, whatever). There are apparently parts of the country where the Samoas are called Caramel deLites, so the pun doesn’t quite work there, but come on, it’s still pretty good.
KUSA reports that Charlotte is what’s known as a Top Cookie CEO (not a joke), a title bestowed upon Scouts who consistently sell a lot of cookies. Part of that might have to do with her mother working in marketing since it was her mother who saw the picture and had the idea.
They printed out some copies of the picture, glued them to “dozens” of the Samoas boxes, and put the picture of the finished result on Facebook. According to Charlotte, “The moms are getting really excited and they’re saying that they need them,” so it sounds like the marketing plan has worked. The picture was even reblogged by the official Instagram account of the Girl Scouts of Colorado.

In a video for 9 News, Charlotte explains that this isn’t just marketed toward thirsty moms. She explains: “the girls will want to buy some because [Jason Momoa]’s on the front and the boys will also want to buy some because he might be their favorite character.”
That’s just the smart, innovative thinking of a Top Cookie CEO. National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend starts Friday, so get ready.
