Internet Calls For Teacher To Get Fired Over Comments Made On 2nd Grader’s Homework

A teacher’s harsh comments written on a 2nd-grader’s math assignment have gone viral and prompted an online petition to fire the teacher.

On Tuesday, Chris Piland posted an image of a math assignment his son brought home with the words “Absolutely pathetic. He answered 13 in 3 min. Sad,” written across the top by his teacher.

Piland, whose son goes to Valley View Elementary School in Pennsylvania where he’s taught by Alyssa Rupp Bohenek, posted an image of the assignment on Facebook, writing, “My son Kamdyn’s teacher has been so rude to him and myself all year he comes home with this and I am beyond frustrated that someone would write this on a childs (sic) work such great motivation.”

So far, 9,217 people have signed the petition. According to the information on Change.org, the goal for the petition is 10,000 signatures.

According to Fox, the school superintendent, Rose Minniti, claimed that investigation had been opened but warned that the outcome would be based on “facts and evidence” and not “social media.”

Another man started a petition in an effort to save the teacher’s job. On April 18, there was an update on Change.org saying that petition got 11 signatures in two hours.
