Viral Twitter Thread Explains Why Companies Don’t Like Pay Transparency

Millennials and Gen Z workers have really bucked this old office norm off, but it still exists:

“Don’t discuss your pay with other workers.”

It’s a shady practice that only benefits your employer; all too often companies can get away with paying certain workers less than others, even when their jobs are exactly the same. If those workers never discuss it, they’ll never know how big the pay gap is, and it goes without saying that this disproportionally negatively affects women in the workplace.
