Dining and dashing has always been one of the most embarrassing and frowned upon crimes the average person can commit. If you can’t afford to pay, don’t go out to eat. A viral TikTok recently caught a couple running to their car after not paying for their meal that they complained a lot about (for no reason).
She (sierraperea) caught them in the act and reported to the restaurant owners immediately.
Her video started with a good 30 seconds of her munching and slurping on her meal, an interesting sort of entertainment, but what some Internet users would refer to as a “Mukbang.” She started with the caption,
“I was going to film what I ate at one of our favorite restaurants but then the table next to us dined and dashed and I got it on camera.”
Already, commenters under the video were appalled at what the couple was about to do.
The couple started their grand scheme by complaining about their food.
The atmosphere in the restaurant seemed to drop, and the second caption on the video said “This is when they started complaining.”
Her third caption included details of what the couple had already eaten. Basically 3 courses already and a meal replacement for one dish that “wasn’t what they had ordered.”
“They had already gotten appetizers soup and salad and gotten her food and had started eating it and told them she wanted teriyaki chicken, not what she ordered. So he was going to make her a teriyaki chicken.”
As the waiter went to fix their order, the couple made their great escape or “dash” to the Lexus parked in the front of the building.
Sierra then turned the camera to catch the two culprits quickly walking out of the restaurant to their luxury vehicle out front- what seemed to be a brand new Lexus. Almost as soon as they got in the car, the OP stood up and alerted the owner what had happened, apologizing for their actions by saying “That’s so sad, I’m sorry.”
Her last caption stated where the crime had taken place, conveniently boosting publicity for the business.
She wrote: “This happened at the Sopporo in Rivergate TN. If you’re local you should definitely go try them.”
Tons of comments flooded in to let the OP know they were nearby and would be trying the restaurant out. So although one unfortunate server lost their chance at a tip, they’ll hopefully have many chances to come with the incoming TikTok supporters.
