Woman Spends 900 Hours Crocheting A Blanket As A Gift For Friend’s Son, He Rejects It, Sparking Debate About Gift Giving

Giving a gift can be a stressful task. The pressure to give something special that the recipient will love makes the whole experience frustrating at times.

My favorite gifts to give are the ones that I feel personally inspired to spontaneously. In my experience, those are the most appreciated gifts, but unfortunately, that’s not the case for Danielle Candela on Twitter.

Danielle Tweeted about her disappointment after her friend’s son returned the crochet blanket she gifted him.

Danielle’s story inspired a heated debate about gift-giving. Many commenters were shocked at the recipient’s entitlement.

Fellow crocheters and knitters replied by sharing their own similar experiences

Others offered up positive stories about people accepting gifts they’ve made, and their gratitude for it

Some commenters noted that no one is obliged to love the gift and say she shouldn’t have forced her craft on them.
