For good reason, coronavirus (aka COVID-19) is all anyone is talking about at the moment, with the pandemic causing sudden changes in the lives of millions.
The closure of restaurants and rising fears that the food supply chain we all rely on could be disrupted has also led to panic buying and extreme shopping as people who are facing potentially long quarantines in their homes race to buy up food staples and treats, clearing supermarket shelves in the process.
But as shelves get picked clean across our great, anxious nation it’s revealing to see which items shoppers are refusing to buy, even in the midst of a pandemic. Some of these unlovable products are predictable, while others are quite surprising.
Here are the foods even coronavirus panic-shoppers won’t touch. (We’re looking at you, canned beets.)
