While Hollywood is the home of the arts and entertainment industries no one has ever accused it of being anything other than a business. With millions of dollars invested in making movies that often take years to see the light of day, it’s no surprise that many films are cynical cash grabs and not particularly imaginative. That’s why there’s a phenomena some people have noticed—two films coming out less than a year apart that are strikingly similar. In fact, some of these forgotten box office doppelgangers are truly bizarre to recall.
