What’s the secret to being rich? What do wealthy people do all day? If a millionaire shares her calendar — would that crack the code for the rest of us?
Turns out, no.
Meet CEO Leila Hormozi, who runs the business investment firm Acquisition. Hormozi, who claims to run a $200 million portfolio, recently tried to flex by sharing what she does all week.
She then broke down her routine in detail.
Looks pretty busy right? That calendar seemed packed!
But then people took a closer look at the actual items on her calendar. Turns out, there were a lot of trivial things like two-hour gym sessions, coffee breaks, lunches, and even mani-pedis.
Oh and lots of dinners.
Sure her calendar was full — but it wasn’t all work stuff. Much of it was just things that we all accomplish (without publicly patting ourselves on the back).
Needless to say, Twitter pounced.
It’s no secret that we’re all busy these days. People are working harder for less money, and everyone’s calendars are full.
A few years back, that 24/7 work ethic became known as “hustle culture” to describe a life of relentless and continuous work.
If you’re wondering — lots of salaried employees work over 45 hours a week at their full-time jobs. And according to a survey by GOBankingRates, 25 percent of Americans slo have a side gig.
But all that work might be harmful. A work week of 47 hours could be harmful to mental health, according to a report from researchers in Australia.
Researcher Dr. Huong Dinh told the Daily Mail that “Long work hours erode a person’s mental and physical health. It leaves less time to eat well and look after themselves properly.”
The lesson here is that even if a millionaire shares her calendar on Twitter, they’re probably not any busier than the rest of us.
