I’ll start by saying this is one of my favorite candies of all time and I have no idea what it’s called. In fact, I don’t think I’ve even seen one in over a decade. The only time I’ve had them was from my grandma or her friends. I figured the candy died with them.
Recently, this little strawberry hard candy with filling was thrust back into the mainstream when Twitter user @joey_fazo2 tweeted a picture of the treat saying, “So you telling me that nobody knows the name of this candy?”
The tweet had many stumped.

Obviously some people had an answer for him, but after some Googling you realize these are called many things, and there are many versions/knock-offs. Some are just hard candy with no filling, some are gummy, some are filled with booze. It seems many have tried to capitalize on this original candy’s success.
The comments were filled with a variety of responses. Some swear they know the answer and other’s offer the name they gave it because, well, it really has no name.
