Having to train your replacement after quitting a job is a common ask among employers.
Considering you decided to leave the job and move on to bigger and better things, it’s totally understandable to help make the transition a smooth one. On the other hand, being forced out of your position of being fired is a different story.
Take TikToker Veronique, who experienced a slightly different scenario for example.
@queen_of_chaosapparently so you think I’m stoooppid LOL #foryou #fyp #foryyouppages #toxicworkenvironmentss #toxicworkchronicles #workplacemisogynyy #signedafedupemoyee #nahhimmaheadout #soyouthinkimstupid?
Her boss interviewed a replacement for her position, offered them four dollars more an hour, and asked her to train them.
When your boss interviews someone to replace you and offers to pay them FOUR DOLLARS more an hour and they have no experience. and he expects you to train 2 them, nah imma head out
Although Veronique wasn’t fired, she did have to give up her desk for the new hire and was moved to a new role at the company.
Veronique still wasn’t cool with how everything went down. She started looking for a new job immediately. She shared more details about why she decided to quit in a series of videos she shared on TikTok
In the video, Veronique explains she gave her boss a month’s notice, and he responded by saying he needed more time to find a “suitable replacement” for her.
His response made her want to walk out of the job right then and there. After all, two-weeks notice is just a courtesy and not mandatory by any means.
Veronique then revealed things got crazier. When her boss learned she was going to quit, he offered her a $5/hour raise. However, that wasn’t enough for Veronique. She still planned to leave, saying there wasn’t enough money to “tolerate the disrespect” upper management showed her.
“surprise! your sh*tty actions have consequences!”

Veronique seemed to agree to train her replacement in their new role, but so far, it’s not going well as they arrived 40 minutes late to work.
She also, unfortunately, had to work in her supervisor’s “disgusting office” since the new employee took over her desk.
“I hate it here”

After viewing Veronique’s videos it may seem like she continued to work there longer than she intended, but she ultimately decided to quit.
To make things worse, her former coworkers continued to call and text asking questions about how to perform basic tasks, like checking the voicemail system.
“I left derailed instructions which is much more than anyone else can say they would’ve done, now leave me alone”

Regardless, it seems like she is much happier and better off.
