Applying for jobs can be stressful, and adding personality tests to the application process can make it even more difficult. In the case of one TikToker, it’s just plain confusing.
In a viral video, TikToker @ggingervitis reveals some of the rather odd questions she had to answer in her assessment.
A stock photo showing a woman staring at a plate full of cupcakes appeared in the first prompt. The caption reads, “Resist Temptation” with the answer choices being “me” or “not me.”
“First of all, I have a huge fucking problem with this: resist temptation,” she said. “Food’s morally neutral.”
In the next prompt, a photo of a soup kitchen with the caption “Soup Kitchen.” The choice of responses was again “me” or “not me.”
“What does that mean?” she asks, confused by the prompt. “Are they asking do I volunteer at soup kitchens? Am I a soup kitchen? Do I participate in soup kitchens? What are they asking? That’s not even a question.”
The third prompt shows a photo of a plate with octopus and vegetables on it. The caption reads, “New Experiences” with responses being “me” or “not me.”
“Like I’m down for new experiences, but I won’t eat octopus,” she says.
Before the end of the video, she explains that the entire personality assessment had nearly 50 similarly confusing prompts, and she had to respond to all of them before submitting the application.
Many viewers agreed with her assessment that the prompts were confusing in the comments.
Others criticized the use of personality assessments in the application process.
