‘The Bachelor’ Contestant Arie Luyendyk Used His Wife’s Breast Milk To ‘Cure’ His Pink Eye

I’m all about the home remedies, but sometimes it’s probably worth it to go with the more conventional route to fix medical problems, especially when they involve your eye.

However, former Bachelor contestant Arie Luyendyk didn’t get the common sense memo, I guess, and decided he was going to try and cure his pink eye with…some of his wife’s breast milk.

While rumors that breast milk can cure pink eye have been floating around online for years, there’s zero scientific basis behind the theory and in fact, trying this might actually do more harm than good.

That didn’t stop Luyendyk from taking to his Instagram account this week to share his desire to “give it a shot” and his subsequent trial of the method.

It took several attempts, but Luyendyk can next be seen pouring his wife’s breast milk onto a spoon—after his wife “missed and poured breast milk all over [his] face,” he shared—and then his wife jumps in to help pour the milk into his eye. The problem is, she kinda stabs him with the spoon instead of gently dumping the milk.

Eventually, the milk got where it was supposed to go, into his infected eye, and it was simply a waiting game to see what would happen. The result? Luyendyk came back later to share that in fact, breast milk did actually cure his eye infection. He even posted a photo of himself with totally normal, not weeping/red eyes on his Insta stories as proof.

Of course, it’s hard to say whether that was actually the breast milk that did it or if he got more conventional treatment but claimed it was the breast milk just so that he didn’t look stupid.

After all, we all know social media is fake and we can’t believe everything (or, you know, anything) we see, so I’m going to call his bluff on this one.
