There’s an old Yiddish proverb:
‘If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans.’
And sure, obviously, life doesn’t always work out the way you want it to.
But for whatever reason, social or evolutionary, there’s this pervasive plan we all make and we all buy into whereby following the rules, being a team player, and working hard, will somehow work out for us.
Well, turns out, making those plans can and does often “make god laugh” as evidenced by the stories shared in this viral Twitter thread.
