Chrissy Teigen has been going through a lot lately, and she has shared all of it. One of the biggest changes in the last month is that she has committed to sobriety—Teigen gave up drinking on her last birthday.
“One month ago, on my birthday, I got this book from my doctor and friend,” she wrote in an Instagram story. “I was done with making an ass of myself in front of people (I’m still embarrassed), tired of day drinking and feeling like shit at 6, not being able to sleep. I have been sober ever since.”
This week, while with her family in D.C. for Biden’s inauguration celebrations, Teigen shared an update about how good it feels to be sober, saying it’s like a “different world” and “everything is new and better.”
ran our asses up the stairs for this shot. just incredible to be here. sober. I know that’s weird but it’s like…a different world for me. everything is new and better. very happy. the most happy bigly happy pic.twitter.com/kdbp9A8ocE

That’s absolutely amazing. Sticking to sobriety and learning to enjoy it is a process, and anyone feeling good about that decision is inspiring.
But reality will intrude. Not every day is going to be New President day or a family trip. As always, Teigen kept it real when reality brought her crashing back down to earth.
She shared a video on Twitter of her tooth. It wasn’t in her mouth. Unfortunately, it was stuck in a fruit roll-up she’d been trying to eat.
Sobriety doesn’t help with this stuff:

Teigen had a sense of humor about the whole thing, and clarified it was just a cap, even if she was emotionally attached to it:
Cap 🙁 but i loved him like he was a real tooth https://t.co/rN1tgzPKbZ

Other people aren’t amused. Teeth falling out is a common fear on Twitter. If Chrissy Teigen can lose a tooth this way, what hope do the rest of us have? Her video was straight-up terrifying to lots of tooth paranoids:
My anxiety seeing this, I lost a tooth on my birthday and they found all kinds of problems. Quoted $12,000 of work and Ive no insurance! 😩 i dream about losing all mine most nights it’s horrible 😭

I had this nightmare few weeks ago. Not only I’ve lost two teeth but it was $ 1 million dollars to replace them.

I once lost a tooth in a starburst. It just came out, perfectly embedded in that little pink square.

One of mine came out this year when eating a cinnamon roll. At least the fruit roll-up makes sense! I’m too scared to eat anything too chewy nowadays =(

I’ve lost them in egg sandwiches, laffy taffy and popcorn and fried shrimp. Thought I was chewing on an extra crunchy piece of fried shrimp, turned out to be my tooth.

Noooooo!!! I’m never going to eat anything again, unless it’s been through a blender.
