Keep Your Baby Yoda, All Hail Babu Frik From “The Rise Of Skywalker”

For a while, we believed nothing could topple Baby Yoda. That’s until Babu Frik came along, and Babu Frik memes overtook Baby Yoda memes—(ok, we’re not quite there yet, but we’re working on it…)

Audiences were introduced to Babu Frik when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hit theaters Dec. 20. The tiny creature is a droidsmith and people are especially taken with his adorable catchphrase “Hey heyy!”

We’re not joking, and yes, it is so gosh darn cute.

Holy hell, we could watch Babu Frik yell “Hey heyy” for at least 300 hours.

In fact, the “Hey heyy!” catchphrase is applicable to many of life’s situations:

People loved Babu Frik’s limited screen time so much, they quickly turned on our precious Baby Yoda.

Maybe it’s because of Babu Frik’s relatability factor?

OK, this is just rude and unacceptable, you guys.

Oh lord, and Dani just took things too far.

Luckily, Emily brought us back down to reality and made us realize what is most important: that we get to have both Babu Frik and Baby Yoda.

And Mike reminded us of the precious gifts the Star Wars universe has sent us in 2019.

As a few Twitter users pointed out, it’s important to note that acclaimed Scottish actress Shirley Henderson (aka Moaning Myrtle for Harry Potter fans) is responsible for bringing “Hey heyy” into the world.

The power Shirley holds!

One thing we know: this world needs more Babu Frik.

Like, NOW.
