The show 90 Day Fiancé is hard to watch, in the way looking at a car crash is hard: it’s awful, and you know you’re awful for looking, but you just can’t stop. One of the more popular protagonists right now is Big Ed, a 54-year-old American man who has been trying to marry his 23-year-old Filipino girlfriend Rosemarie. The age difference is enough to make anyone raise their eyebrows, but Big Ed’s looks have been a huge part of the conversation as well.

One reason is his height—he initially lies to Rosemarie, who is 5’2″ while he is 4’11”. He’s also a girthy guy and has a strange appearance overall. According to StreamingWars, Big Ed has Klippel-Feil syndrome, a congenital condition that causes the vertebrae to fuse, which is why he appears to have a very short neck.
Ed has had had trouble with his condition his whole life, saying, “I have a bigger than normal chest cavity, so I’ve been made fun of my whole life, and when I was in high school, I actually got stuck in the neck machine.”
By all accounts, Big Ed is a terrible person, even though he does exude a captivating energy that makes him really fun to watch onscreen. Does that make it okay to constantly comment on his looks? Personally, I don’t think so. But he did recently post some #tbt thirst traps that make me think he does want us to talk about him a little bit.
Yes, Big Ed was once built as hell, and he says himself in one caption that at the time he did major cardio, writing, “With throw back to raising Tiffany, we would bike 20 miles a day..!”

Here he shared a pic of himself smoldering sensually by the pool captioned, “Was in shape before getting married..!”

And here he is practically ready to dance on the bar:

Yes, Ed was once a certified hottie. Bodies change, though, whether you get married or not, and definitely when you have spinal fusion issues. Ultimately, I don’t think Big Ed cares too much if people make fun of him, because he did share this TikTok:

His sense of humor remains intact no matter what happens.
