Science is based on evidence and facts whereas opinions are often based on… nothing at all. That makes it extra juicy when someone loudly voices their opinion on a scientific matter only to get swiftly slapped down by those cold hard unforgiving facts. Preferably in a public fashion. This is known to some as being “slaughtered by science” and it’s a common enough phenomenon that it has its own subreddit of the same name.
Whether it’s Flat Earthers, anti-vaxxers, or COVID-19 deniers, there’s nothing quite like watch a pompous idiot be taken down a peg or fifty.
